Pet Loss Support From Cachet Village Animal Hospital
As pet owners ourselves, we understand that the human–animal bond is strong, and when we lose a cherished pet, it’s as if we lost a human friend. Our grief is real and it is painful.
This section of our website offers several resources to help you through this difficult time. We always offer our clients support, but we are particularly sensitive at this most difficult time in every pet owner’s life.
- Pet Loss Library—When we lose a loved one, whether it is a person or a pet, it is often helpful to read about others who have gone through a similar experience. This page offers links to well-written articles about loss and how to cope.
- Pet Memorials—Pets often don’t have the same rituals that humans receive when a life ends. To help mark the event and to offer the opportunity to speak, we have set up a Pet Memorials page that allows you to post a picture of your pet and write a story, post a poem, or say whatever you feel appropriate to honor the memory of your beloved pet.
- Light a Candle—Sometimes the simple act of lighting a candle for someone, both in real life and “virtually,” can make us feel just a little bit better. Be sure to go to our Light a Candle page and simply enter your pet’s name, your name, and choose a candle. It’s just that easy.
For additional support and pet loss services, we recommend:
- Gateway Pet Memorial, offering a variety of pet loss products and services.
- Thistledown Pet Memorial, Toronto’s only pet funeral home and pet crematorium facility.
