Meet the Veterinary Staff at Cachet Village Animal Hospital in Markham ON
Dr. Danny DeRose
Dr. Danny DeRose knew he wanted to be a vet at 12 years old when he first brought his cat, Mickey, to see the vet and saw the care and compassion the veterinarian showed him and Mickey. For several years after that, Dr. DeRose worked as a volunteer in vet clinics, shadowing veterinarians and observing their daily activities to gain as much experience and knowledge as he could. Dr. DeRose completed his bachelor of science degree at the University of Guelph in 2002, and in the summer of 2002, he was granted admission to the Ontario Veterinary College, which he describes as the happiest day of his life!
After his graduation, Dr. DeRose worked at several busy small animal hospitals in both Markham and Richmond Hill. He also worked as an emergency veterinarian on Sundays for two years, gaining much experience dealing with a vast array of difficult cases. In April 2009, Dr. DeRose decided that he wanted to open his own practice where he could provide the type of quality medicine he has always strived for. He is always learning the newest methods and techniques in veterinary medicine, as is evident with his use of laser surgery, laser therapy, and stem cell therapy. Being one of the first vets in Ontario to perform stem cell therapy in pets, Dr. DeRose has begun teaching courses to other veterinarians about stem cell therapy.
Dr. DeRose is a proud Markham resident and lives with his Brussels Griffon, Mozzie, and his three cats, Frankie, Monkey, and Pishi. Mozzie is Dr. DeRose’s newest addition. He was rescued from a puppy mill in the United States and is learning to trust people. It is a slow process, but Dr. DeRose is confident that in time Mozzie will realize that people love and care for him.

Linda, Office Manager
Linda has worked in the veterinary field for the past 10 years. Growing up, Linda always had pets and a great love of animals. She worked for the Toronto Transit Commission’s finance department (Grey Coach) for 11 years, and then Linda decided to switch careers and be an at-home mom for her son Christopher and daughter Shannon.
Linda began working with cats and dogs in 2001 and joined Cachet Village Animal Hospital at its start in 2009. She is our Office Manager/Receptionist. She shares her home with Chris and Shannon, their dog (Chelsea), and 3 cats (Max, Simon, and Coal).
Melissa, Reception
Melissa is passionate about animals and loves working in the veterinary field. She is one of the new friendly faces you will see when you come in for appointments with your pets. She lives with her husband and her Minature Pinscher, Rylee; her Chihuahua, Pinky; and her 2 cats, Noah and Stitch.
Sarah, Reception
Sarah started at Cachet Village Animal Hospital in 2009. She is a student in the biological sciences program at the University of Guelph. She aspires to one day be a veterinarian herself. In her spare time, she is busy gaining large animal experience. She lives with her adorable longhair miniature dachshund, Arthur, and her rabbit, Gunther.
Tasha, Registered Veterinary Technician
Tasha graduated with honours from the veterinary technician program at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in 1997. She brings to our team almost 15 years of experience and expertise gained from working at various hospitals in the GTA, including 8 years at a cat-only practice. From a very young age, Tasha knew that her life would always be devoted to the animals around her; she never realized how closely, though, until the experience of providing around-the-clock care to her 10-week-old kitten after a near-fatal dog attack showed her the career path she was destined to take. Tasha shares her home with her cat, Simon; her two kids, Jake and Emily; and her husband, Gary.
Amber, Registered Veterinary Technician
Amber graduated from Seneca College in 2006 and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She is responsible for ensuring all the pets in the hospital are comfortable and cared for during their stay with us and for answering any questions you might have. She has a special interest in client education and pet nutrition. Amber lives at home with three cats and one dog.
Sandra, Registered Veterinary Technician
Sandra graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College in 2012. She feels lucky to be able to join the team after graduating and to be able to provide care and comfort to the pets in the hospital. Working with animals has always been a dream of hers and having gained experience at a veterinary clinic for her coop education in high school, she decided the role of a veterinary technician is what she wanted to strive for.
Jason, Animal Care Assistant
Jason is a student in the International Baccalaureate program at Bayview Secondary School and will be entering final year in September 2011. He aspires to be a veterinarian and has been with the hospital since September 2010. Jason is also an active member in his school’s DECA chapter and enjoys playing tennis outside of school.
